Coursework: Ignite presentation learner response

There have been some excellent Ignite presentations with some brilliantly creative responses to the coursework brief.

Hopefully, the presentations and Q&A sessions that followed have highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of your coursework proposal and may indeed have prompted re-drafts of your statement of intent.

Your learner response is as follows and will take some time to do properly:

1) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each of the categories.

WWW: Good slides, research concepts and close use of media language

Well structured research , references to representation.

Audience theory used+ audience pleasures.

Ebi: Look at audience. need more content, better rehearsal for timing. Images need to be more relevant e.g mise en scene.

2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write your own detailed WWW and EBI for your coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW: My slides were clear and easy to read. I used research to support my ideas. I explained media concepts and used media terminology. I included audience theory and audience pleasures. My ideas about representation were clear and well-structured.

EBI: I could add more content about the audience. I need to rehearse more to keep within the time limit. The images in my slides could match the examples better, for example using relevant pictures for my slide about mise-en-scène. I could link my examples more closely to theory.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your concept offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Is it achievable to film with the resources you have available? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

The presentation helped me see what works in my concept. I need to check my statement of intent and make it clearer and try add more words. My idea is suitable for the audience in the brief. I can film it with the equipment I have. I can add media terminology and theory to my statement of intent now. This will make my coursework stronger and more detailed.
